One thing your dog may be picking up on is your energy. You're her owner and, therefore, her pack leader. If you're upset over this and put out that kind of sympathetic energy, the dog will sense that and remain afraid.
Next time you get a chance, take your dog right back out where the incident occurred and show her that everything is okay now. Don't plead with her. Don't try to coax her with baby talk or whatever. Just go on out there and walk around with your shoulders back and head up. This signifies to your dog that her pack leader is in charge in that yard and, therefore, she has nothing to fear.
If she won't go out there at first, don't force her. Just go out there yourself and walk around confidently. She'll eventually get curious enough to come out and join you.
Remember, dogs live in the moment. They don't really think about what happened the day before. They just feed off the energy they get from their pack leader. They thrive on a confident, strong leader and will follow you anywhere if they pick up that energy from you.
So, go out there and be a strong leader for your dog. Let her know that it's your yard and, therefore, her yard. And, she'll be just fine.

Give her time, and I'm sure she'll be fine if you're sure she has no physical damage from the attack. People that get into car accidents or get robbed aren't in the best state of mind either. Give her her space, and make sure she is in a room she is comfortable in away from other pets or people that will bother her. Let her rest, and try giving her a chew toy she loves or a treat. Also, dogs love peanut butter, and rubbing some on a toy and leaving her alone with it might allow her to take her mind off things. Make sure the house isn't too loud, and try not to scare her by making sudden noises or movements. You sound like you care a lot about your dog, and she's luck to have you looking out for her! A rottweiler should not be running lose in your yard. Make sure that this situation does not happen again. You can easily call the animal control office in your tonw and report it. You could ask them to talk to the owner of the dog to make sure it doesn't happen again. Your poor puppy should not need to feel scared in her own yard!
Good luck with your dog! If you have doubts about her feeling well, take a minute to call a local vet in your area. The call is free and by telling him what happened you could get some more advice on the problem if you need it.

Give her time to calm down. And you may want to look again she may have a wound you did not see. And you may want to have your parents ask the owner of the other dog to fence in their dog ( explain what happened). I'm sure that you were just as afraid as she was - so when you both calm down be careful that the other dog is no where is sight. I really think you should have the vet look over your puppy for wounds.
I 'll pray that your neighbor keeps his dog at home and that you can safely return outside without any fears.
BE CAREFUL!!!!!! AND Hold On To The Leash TIGHT!

It was only today - of course it is going to take her a while to get over.
Do you have any Bach's Rescue Remedy in the house? About 4 drops of that may help relieve her anxiety. I would still get her checked by a vet as she may need some antibiotics. Bites can often become infected.
Good luck.

The same sort of thing happened to my pet chihuahua. She was attacked on our prperty. she was so scared she would not go out for about a week. Don't worry, as long as you are there to protect her she should go outside. just keep comforting her, and get her to a vet ASAP. if the Rottweiler had Rabies then youwill want to get her checked out. I hope this helped.

Alot of love and understanding. She is a baby and she needs to learn to feel safe again. Did you call the police? I would.

Well, just keep comforting her. She's just in a state of shock right now, so just keep petting her, and comfort her.
