Do male and female sailors and soldiers 'hook up' while on ship or deployed? Or do they have to rely on the local civilians?

I deployed with the Navy 9 times 'tween 1985-1999... and only during my last sea-tour were females aboard combatants. It was made VERY clear that "hooking up" was a violation of ORDERS and Regulations aboard that carrier (last conventional powered carrier)
A guy and gal from the Data Processing division hooked up... got caught and were both busted a pay-grade.
Another gal was caught selling "oral" favors... she was given a Dishonorable Discharge following her reduction in paygrade.
I guess others got away with it... I didn't risk it. Some folks can control their zippers

In Iraq, yes they hook up. Ugly girls become princesses and super models and the good looking guys go after these girls because there isn't much to choose from and they put out. Wouldn't touch the locals, not other there anyway. But when the boys and girls get back, the girls magically become ugly again and the boys go back to ignoring them and chasing hot tail.
As for the navy they also hook up with each other but when they get to port like in Asia or other wonderful ports, they guys tend to hook up with the locals. One because they are probably decent looking and two because they are there waiting at the port for the sailors.
Now I'm not saying everyone hooks up when they are deployed. There are some you stay faithful to their husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends. And to those who do stay faithful I salute you.

though they are not supposed to yes sometimes soldiers will "hook up" while deployed it's a bad thing for moral though but the soldiers who do this don't see beyond their momentary lust. Very rarely will soldiers fall for a local civilian or "hook up" with one because of two reasons 1) IT'S LOOKED DOWN UPON BY YOUR FELLOW SERVICE MEMBERS 2) it's harder to hook up with someone who isn't allowed in the safe area at all times.

Yup, they hook up a lot. A buddy of mine in the Navy used to complain because females would get pregnant on board ship, get transferred off, but they were still listed as part of the ship's crew, and there would be no replacement sent, so you had to work more to pick up their slack.

i think sailors hook up more than soldiers because there's generally more females in the navy. most of them don't because they are married and plus their fellow comrads look down on it and plus they don't really have easy access. mostly they use the internet and a lot of porn.

a lot of hook-ups..... except for combat mos's. we dont have females and the pog's have all day at the mwr to hit on females while we're out on missions.
