I am a boxer out of NY city and have found it takes a lot of time and tons of hard boring work. Lots of running and lots of rounds in the gym is really the basics. Your body basically needs to be able to recover after putting in hard work.

Ali once said no one can fight full speed every round. So you train your body to go hard for a few rounds and then let it rest a little more other rounds.

Swimming is very good too. Another reason a lot of NEW fighters get tired quickly is because they do not control their heart rate and breathing. If you dont control yourself and stay calm you breath harder therefore burning more energy. SOmetimes believe it or not, newer fighters forget to breath.

Before we start you need to understand that to stay longer in the arena u need to thing,

a. Being able to suffer pain.
b. Not getting tired.
i know its obvius but woudnt mind saying it.

the drills:

Durablilty (suffer pain)

Seat up - glove exercize (you need a partner for this one).

ok so its pretty simple, you mainly do push ups just... that after each set your partner need to hit you with the glove on your stomach by the number of seat up that you did..you always start from one thats the best way keeping track of your improvment.
clear?! if not: after you did 1 seat up your partner will hit you 1 time on your stomach, 2 seat ups - 2 hits, 3-3, 4-4 etc..

dont do it too much or it will leave a nasty mark.

2. Rope jumping without a rope.

thats what i do once every while.
now this realy leaves a mark so your choice:).

3. Just box with your friend -DONT TRY WITHOUT HELMET- your not pros and ofc gloves.

Lung capacity drills.

1. Rope jumping ALOT

2. Running (ofc)

3. Boxing a bag (buy a bag at your house cause this is one of the best drills)

remember lung capacity requires alot of cardio,
you can play soccer, basketball, swim (probably the best), whatever does it to you do it ALOT.

but learning how to box independent will be VERY hard try get a trainer or a group.
and alot of GYM work

mainly look for exercises that you enjoy and do it 4 times a week.

hope you liked it
