ok so i ordered this bedset for school from macy's online on 7/31/07 and paid with a debit card. they shipped it on 8/3/07. when i go onto my online banking it shows that they have still not charged me for it and basically i am wondering when are they going to charge me? the debit card i used is for online stuff only so i never keep any money in it. i'm just waiting for them to take my money. i know it's a stupid question but i am just curious!

Usually it takes anywhere from 2-5 business days for a charge to post to your account once the merchant places a hold (pending authorization) for that amount on your card (once you make a purchase).

That is sooooooooo not been my experience. I can have my online bank account open on one tab and the online company on another and from the time I click buy over there to the time I navigate to my bank tab, it is showing up. Everything is computerized.

Although ... I WAS told once that IF I use my debit card as a credit card, it takes longer for the charges to show up. Give it another day or two.

Most places will charge your account when they ship it. It might take a day or two for it to show up on your online banking, not counting weekend days.

It should be within the week of purchase. But try calling the store and see whats going on.

They are very fast. As soon as you tell them your visa number by phone, they are typing that information and billing it to you already.
Not slouches, these people.
