Not bad for a beginner girl. You'll get better as you gain more experience.Keep on running longer distances to build a base.Sooner or later 3miles will be a piece of cake.Run relaxed and stretch well before each run.By the end of the season you should be running 20 to 22 min.
I believe in you, You can do it.

Well it depends on your age, and since your a begginner that pretty good, just keep practicing and dont give up.
And too practice you should enter into some of your local 5k races, its a great way to practice and lots of fun, and for cross country its kinda hard to say weather thats good or not, because i dont know your age, but if its 3 miles i would suspect that you were in highschool, because where i live its 1 mile for elementary 2 miles for middle and 3 for highschool, so i would say that you could get that time down because thats about a 9 minute mile, and i think if you practice and pace yourself during a race and dont burn out to fast than you can get your time down, i would say that if you got it under 24 minutes that would be good, for about average because that would be an 8 minute mile, just keep practiceing and dont give up. Good luck.

Ahh, this isnt that great, I run a mile in 6:02 so it would take me about 21 minutes at the most... Its decent, about 9 miles a minute, but not fast enough for cross country.. I tried cross country but I quit after they made us run 7 miles one day and 13 miles the next

You have a great target time to start to improve...but as you get to know the abilities of runners on your team, try and compete with the ones just a little bit quicker than you in the next race.

if its you first time in xc, and your first race that really good =D
its good to have a target for every race, so mabye the next one you could try for 26:00. it's a hard goal, but thats what makes it more exciting when you beat them!!!
so no your not horrible, but you can deff improve a bunch if you keep working hard! GOOD LUCK!
