What do you do while you drive?

Question

Do you text? talk on a cell phone? eat?
Once I saw someone reading a novel while driving.
Do you think it's dangerous, or do you think you still have control?


Also, how many of you don't use turn signals?

When I leave the parking lot I turn on the 'yellow' alert in my head and put my mental finger on the red button and after wards I keep both eyes wide open watching for loonies, drunks, crackheads, people talking on cell phones and otherwise preoccupied with something besides driving safely!!! And oh yes I scrupulously use my turn signals.

I don't think multi-tasking is the thing to do when driving a car. It only takes a split second sometimes for an accident to happen. We need to concentrate on driving, nothing more. I also try to drive defensively and notice things, such as people pulling out of driveways without checking the traffic. And, yes, I always use turn signals.

While the car is moving, I focus on the driving.
I have both hands on the wheet, am regularly checking rear mirros, sideways, rear, head swivel around.

Yes I use turn signals.

However, while stuck in traffic jams, I put the car in park & read a newspaper, novel, or whatever. I also eat, drink.

When the traffic begins to move again, I bookmark where I was & put the reading material down, until I get to the next stopped traffic situation.

I pay attention to the fact I hold the lives of everybody else on the road in my hands.
I once borrowed a friend's car in a small northern town. Everybody commented a stranger must have been driving because it was the only car in town with signals in use that day!

Good question. I don't always use my turn signals but I don't like Chinese takeout anyway (--never could use chopsticks). I've seen some crazy things out there on the road. I think sometimes I've seen it all then comes someone who takes the cake (or runs away with the whole block the bakery is on).Be careful out there and drive defensively.

Wow, you sure stirred up some smart a** answers! You should try doing traffic control at a major accident scene just to update your list of pet peeves. Try nursing the baby, putting BBQ sauce on the sandwich, or masturbating as real life excuses for crashing to the big red fire truck!!!

I just drive. I once saw a man eating take out chinese food with his chopsticks. I always use turn signals. That's one of my pet peeves!

I listen to Good Morning American and drink my coffee. Sometimes I yell at drivers or call them idiots. I always use my signals, don't cut people off, and try to a courteous driver.

I used to eat ice cream cones and drive a stick. Not anymore. I've wised up a bit. Now I drive an automatic.

i JUST drive, & i always use my turn signals.
on the freeway yesterday i saw a man open up a newspaper (we were in traffic), he then proceeded to accelerate into the rear-bumper of the car in front of him.
