I am 16, and about two months ago, my grea-uncle died. I cried at the funeral, but after that, I never cried again. This past week, I have cried myself to sleep every night, for no reason that I can figure out. Please, can someone tell me what is going on? I can't do this much longer.

Honey, you are having a natural reaction to the death of your great grandfather. No one can tell you how to grieve that's something that's very personal. Two months is not a long time to grieve. When my sister died in Sept of 2005 it didn't hit me until about two months later. Some times it takes a while for if to hit you. It's a perfectly normal reaction to your grandfather's death. Give yourself time to grief and if in a few months you're still having crying jags than ask for help. but now that you know what's going on you should be able to deal with it better. You have to give yourself time to greif that's the only way of feeling better it won't happen overnight but it will happen.

It is natural for some people to do that. I did the same thing with my fathers funeral.....only 18 years later! It was just like it was all brand new. I still can't remember any of the funeral. Our minds try to protect us sometimes and won't let us deal with things at certain times. When it is ready, it let's us deal with it. I know your pain. My Mother just passed away this last Wednesday. I feel like I could go insane. I just got back from the doc's for some help. If you were really close to him, maybe you should see your doctor. It's o.k. to seek help when your hurting. May God bless you.

Sometimes when an event such as a death of a loved one takes place it triggers other things inside even if it is in your subconscious so therefor you are not aware of what is upsetting you necessarily. I am very sorry about your great-uncle. It sounds as though you need to talk to your parents and let them know how you are feeling so they can make an appt. for you to see a Professional before things get worse. I do hope you feel better~

Honestly honey, you need to talk to someone.
You are at an age where your hormones are very unstable. Nerve endings are connecting all over the place and you are basically being rewired from being a child to handling things like an adult.
From time to time we all need help.
Not one of your friends your age, but an adult of the same gender as you. May be a teacher or understanding parent. If you have insurance go to your Dr. and talk to him or her you don't have to take your parents at your age and they can help.
