it's like the ones for kids...kinda
they restrain the animal from moving around alot. like a harness
others are just set up like pet beds and smaller breeds just lay in them and stay put.

the harness style are good for dogs like mine that take forever to settle in the veh and try to lick you or that cause distraction while driving...
