She would not be the head of the church of England - that title falls on the reigning monarch
Elizabeth is the Queen it is her blood line that caries the power - Philip her husband - is not the King
As a King out ranks a Queen - and Elizabeth is the bloodline and therefore the sovereign we have no King
If Charles was to become King then his wife would become Queen - but with no power the wife of Charles would not be the reigning monarch
But having a Muslim raising the future King of England ,Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Canada, New Zea-land and Australia would not have gone over well at all

First of all, I don't think Diana cherished her role as a member of old aristocracy. She was more a celebrity than a royal. Many Britons don't believe in the monarchy and class system.
Second, she probably would have liked to work as a goodwill ambassador for the U.N.. She was interested in HIV/AIDS in Africa, landmines and child welfare policy in the Third World.
Third, she was no longer married to Prince Charles. He married his mistress. She could be the future Queen. I wouldn't worry about Diana's ethics.
Forth, she didn't represent the Church of England. Britain is mostly a secular society. It is a ceremonial role. It is important to active members of the Church. She wasn't against Christianity but didn't actively profess to be a dedicated Christian. That didn't mean she didn't believe, but she wasn't the church-going type.
Fifth, a private marriage between an Egyptian Muslim and a secular Brit is a personal matter. We don't live in a segregated society. I am no more against that marriage than I am against any other. We have no right to dictate who marries who. Some people marry outside their religion. Just because I might favour reform in Islam for the sake of Muslims and the West doesn't mean I have something against individual Muslims.

I think her expected marriage was the reason of her death. She was a great person, but God knows what is better for her. May be she was already a Muslim and by this accident, she is going to heaven.
I think also the people who killed her were enough stupid racists, coz she is unforgettable now and the story will be a reminder for how strong Islam is even all the killings and whatever those racists do.
They killed the princess, but many others converted to Islam before her death and after.
Next time they should think more.

Each to their own.. live and let live. I think that as long as she was happy that is all that matters. It did not change the person she was.. A mother who loved her children, compasionate and above all human.

I am told she wouldn't of had to have converted to marry. You are using a dead persons name.
