What in the world makes you think we were "intelligently designed?" There's no evidence of any kind to support that assumption.
I gotta tell ya, if some "god" designed us, then he wasn't very intelligent. Humans are full of poor "design" choices. Our eyes have their light-sensing cells backwards, greatly reducing our ability to see in dim light. Our skeletal system has serious flaws that *cause* pain and injury just from walking upright. We have redundant systems for functions we don't even use, yet no redundancy for our most important parts (heart, brain, etc.) We're easily felled by simple viruses and bacteria, whereas very simple genetic changes could make us virtually immune. Frankly, if we're "designed," the designer was an idiot :)
All those things make perfect sense if we evolved (as all the evidence shows). None of them make sense if we were "designed" by some really smart dude. Wake up and smell the evolutionary history :)
