Would you be an angry, arrogant jerk? Would you hate the general public and flame them online? Would you pounce on every infraction? This is a theoretical question aimed at non-police officers.

If this is actually a rhetorical question, meaning you don't want an answer, then it is a violation of Yahoo rules. I don't believe that is the case. I think it is a deliberate attempt to stir up the arrogant jerks on this site. That means it IS aimed at non-officers.

Angry, arrogant jerk? Hell, no.

Hate general public and flame them online? NO!

Pounce on every infraction? This is a joke, right?

No, I would be an honest, caring, compassionate officer, hell bent on helping others, especially our youth, helping them realize their potential, helping them break old habits and get and stay on the straight and narrow. I would go to schools to talk at assmeblies about the dangers of drugs and gangs, etc, and talk about the adventures of being a police officer. I would inspire some youth to choose careers in law enforcement.

Also, I would be an example for the corrupt officers on my force and teach them to be more impartial. If they resisted and tried to tell me I was wrong, I would have no problem reporting their butts, depending on how much harassment they give me.

I would not but I don't deal with that job every day either. You have to be a special person to do that job, go home at the end of your shift and forget it all and have time for your family.
Most LE people I know are good at the job, learn to leave it there and are good officers. I also know some that don't deserve to be wearing the badge. They are jerks and have that holier than thou attitude. They are few and far between but there are some. Their time will come, they will pay for the pain they cause others.
Thanks for a good question.

Frankly, if I had to deal with some of things they do, I might. They deal with more stupidity, ignorance, meanness, spite, and arrogance in a week than most people do in a lifetime. They are constantly seeing man's inhumanity to man. They see all the lowlife, unfair things people do to other people. They deal, on a regular basis, with people who think they have the right to damage other people and their belongings. Sure there are some bad ones, but that is true of any group of people or in any profession. So before I listen to someone bash them I would like to see that person walk a mile in their shoes.

1: No.

2: Of course not.

3: Absolutely not.

I would, however, be willing to overlook things based on a *******, and maybe even a bit of cash here and there. I would be a "Good fella" to know, and smack around the scum of society.

Maybe that answer contradicts itself, but angry and arrogant isnt the same as being a "bad cop". Assholes and crooks are two different things, and I would most likely be a crook. :P
