Well look at it this way: those who gave their hard earned money to the catholic cult ended up paying for the "priest's" sexual romp with little boys.

Most of the money given to the Catholic Church (or at least the one I go to) helps to pay for mission trips, food drives, payments on the thrift store my church opened, renovations and additions, new furniture and bills, priests salaries. All of the whole boy loving stuff happened in Europe, where some churches have boys who serve the priest all the time and live in the churches quarters. The sick priests who did so wanted some form of sex since they could not get married (one of Pope John Paul II's rules he made during the time he was Pope).

I don't give my money to religious rackets of any kind.
It always struck me as wrong that preachers, who don't really do any work for a living, ask those making a tiny fraction of their income to subsidize their workless lifestyle.

No, because the vast majority of the money I donated stayed at the parish level, while much of the settlement money came from insurance.

Out of court settlements are not uncommon, and they can happen only with the approval of all parties involved.
So what's your beef?

I make it a rule to never give money to fanatics. But if I had, I'd be pretty pissed right now....
