I was issued a speeding ticket while the cops were doing Lidar training. (So, the officer running the Lidar was a newbie, and the officer that actually issued me the citation was more experienced.) Will this fact help me if I decide to contest it in court? Or should I not even bother? (They said I was going 7 mph over the speed limit.) This occured in Kansas. If it's not worth fighting in court, how do I go about trying to get it reduced, or cutting a deal, so it does not go on my insurance record? Thanks.

Go through the court process, you'll have to pay a bit but at least here in Texas, they dropped it from my record after a month. It was a big pain though. Here we get to take a driver's ed. class which I had already done and the first ticket gets cleared. (The court mess was for a second.) Laws are probably different from place to place.... Good luck and slow down!

if you WERE speeding, then dont contest it. just go to court plead guilty and see what the judge gives you. maybe request traffic school
