So if two dogs mated one female, the puppies can actually have two fathers??

A friend of mine told me this who is also a breeder.

Yes this is very true. If the females mates with different males she can have pups for any and all males she mated with. How this happens is that the females will release eggs at different times in her heat. So one male mates with her one one day that she releases eggs the pups will be his. If on another day another males mates with her an she has realsed more eggs than that male will be those pups dad. See that's how it's possible.

Absolutely! There are many eggs (depending on the size and age of the female), all it takes is one sperm from either father to fertilize the egg. A female that mates with more than one dog during the heat cycle, can have pups from both males, which ever one produces the sperm that fertilizes the egg.

Yes. Each pup can concievably have a different father.

The last breeding I did was to 2 different sires. One is an aging guy who did not have very high quality semen, the other is a guy who is imported/visiting and was going to be leaving the country. To register the pups I've had to do DNA on all 7 puppies to determine who was each pup's father.

Yes, its true, for that matter each puppy could have a different father, and each puppy could be a different mix breed The female is in standing heat for about nine days so you could have a puppy or puppies that have a nine day difference in age. This would be a total disaster.
Personally I think this is a horrible practice.

yes. The female releases eggs, the male's sperm enter. Since there are eggs available, any sperm - regardless of which male it came from - has the ability to fertilize the eggs. So a female can have pups from two different fathers. it has happened with humans also - fraternal twins (two separate eggs) are viable for several days so have sex with two different males and fertilization by one or both is possible.

I know that a litter of cats can have up to 5 different fathers so maybe it is possible with dogs, but I am not sure.

Each puppy only has one father, but a littermate can have a different father. AKC even has a test to determine which dog sired which pups.

Yes it can happen because the mother can be bred at one time then bred at another and each of them can produce puppies.

Yes, since there are multiple eggs to be fertilized.
