There will never be peace with Muslims. It's not in their Koran. The earth will always have wars and terrorists.

Peace is such a miss interpret word with so many variables of peace. They have had peace the last 10 years. Little bumps and growing pains. The leaders are trying to have peace like we understand peace but for now that is only a dream. Their peace is only may be hour by hour. But with the troops there it could be turn in to days then weeks and years. The troops know what it is to live in peace showing could bring understanding how peace works. But for now do they have peace as they know peace only working toward a peace that we enjoy and sometime take for granted. Thank God for our troops where ever they serve our great Nation

Can the United States afford to keep troops in Iraq for the next 10 years, either in terms of lives (at current rates, 15-20,000 casualties in 10 years time) or, for that matter tax dollars (billions and billions)?

No. I don't think the people in the Middle East will ever stop warring with each other.

We will stay there until Bush is out of office.

He will never admit he was wrong and many more of our young people will die and come home crippled for life before we will be able to get everyone out of there even after Bush has left office.

All we can say is shame on him. They should hang his picture upside down when they put it on the wall with our other leaders of the past.

That region has never known peace and never will if we leave they go back to fighting among themselves they have all through history all we are doing is putting off what has to happen peace is decided by the victor history is witness to this in every conflict there has to be a winner and a loser look at every conflict in our own history we only have peace after one side wins and the other side submits

No peace, no peace. This iraq is just a magnet for terror squads hellbent on revenge against America and its diplomatic policy. Troops in Iraq will always be under fire and subject to terrorist acts. Has everyone forgotten Lebanon?

No probably not. We live in a pretty screwed up world, if you don't mind me saying so. Our society always tries to solve everything by violence. I personally think we should be in Iraq and Afghanistan but no, there will never be peace anywhere in the world. There probably never will be peace in the world but, give us an eon or two and we might achieve it.

I believe that as long as we have troops stationed on Muslim soil, some Muslims will be offended and fight against occupation of their countries by " Infidels". It is taught that it is so by their religious authorities so they believe it to be an affront no matter that the troops are invited by legitimate government leaders.

Yes, I believe that the Iraqi people are realizing that the future is in their hands and that we are not there to take their land and oil. There is a long hard road ahead for the Iraqi people and for our armed forces in Iraq, but we already have too much invested at the moment to pull out now. It will take time.
