How long do i leave it in my hair? Do i put it in while in hte shower or can i use a shower cap and wash it out afterwards?? How will I know its all washed out? How long will it take to see results? Are there any other products out there that would help even more?

I'm not such a fan of the pure olive oil treatment; it's too hard to wash out. Use a pre-made deep conditioner like Joico K-Pak.

And here are some home remedies:

Shiny Soft Hair Treatment
In a small bowl, mash and combine: 1 avocado (1/2 for shorter hair)
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon olive oil

Apply to hair and allow to remain 30 minutes or longer, then shampoo and condition as usual. http://www.care2.com/greenliving/avocado-kitchen-cupboard-beauty-tips.html

Olive oil is great for helping your hair to grow. It is messy, however, and you will have to scrub your shower/bathtub well afterwards. Work it into your hair (especially the scalp) with your fingers and cover with a cap so your body heat can warm it up. Any time from 10 minutes, to an hour is beneficial. You could sleep with it in, but you will be sacrificing your pillowcase.

To wash it out, you might have to shampoo a few times, but that depends on how coarse or fine your hair is.

You'll probably see at least a small change within a month. There are other products that can help with this. Rosemary and Ylang ylang are good for stimulating hair growth. You can find them in essential oil form. Jobjoba is good for normalizing sebum production of the scalp. Make sure you check out potential side effects before using different essential oils & never use them without mixing them with a carrier oil.

Olive Oil is and has been for thousands of years the best natural conditioner. Anyone who tells you otherwise didn't know what they were doing or how to use it, and they most likely used too much. Always use Extra Virgin Olive oil, and don't slather it on like a fool, and youll be fine.

Three or four drops. That is all you need. Put it on your hair after it has been washed and is still wet. Start at the ends, and work your way up to the midsection of your hair. Dont put it on your roots- use common sense.

Olive Oil can be rinsed out by plain old warm water, so I cannot imagine anyone having a problem rinsing it out unless they put a whole bottle on their head. That will of course make your hair look greasy. You can also apply a drop or two after it is dry, to calm frizzies. Olive Oil is not like other oils.. put some on your hand and rinse it off under warm water and see it wash away.

Olive oil works great all over your body. Just wash your hair, towel dry and apply the OO all over-roots to ends. Cover with a cap and leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse out for atleast 3-5 minutes, then shampoo and condtion as usual. It will really help with dry hair, skin and cuticles.

Actually you can put Olive Oil in your hair, but just add a few teaspoons to your conditioner. Let it sit while you're in the shower, and rinse it out with warm water.

If you put too much, just like with anything, your hair can become a little greasy.

Don't be afraid to try stuff out, how else will you know what works for you. =0)

heat the olive oil up a bit then spread it with your fingers on your hair, if you've got thick, long hair get a mate to do it. then either tie a towel round your hair (obviously put towel straight in linen basket) or what i do is put cling film round my hair ( u'll look like a conehead but i find it works better).

then you've got to wait for about an hour or two and wash your hair as you do normally. it gives a nice shine and feels in better condition. you could just buy vo5 oil in them little tubes but its exactly the same

u could just use a hair mask dove's got a good one.

hey your question leaves me to ask you another...why are you putting olive oil in your hair in the first place? and if you use it in the bath you better be sitting down, cause it will get slipperier that ice in the tube and you are going to fall....
the best product for hair today is Aveda. The shampoos and conditioners are customized, organic and top of the line....you will have to go on line to find a salon near you that sells it...and then go in a discuss your problems and they will help you find the best of their products for your individual needs....also it will seem expensive but in the long run it isn't.
furthermore the oil will probably cause mor problems then you already have...just go get yourself some Aveda...
