MANY Americans are willing to risk their lives to fight for freedom. Many Americans have already died in this fight.

How many Muslims (American or not) would be willing to take this same risk?

And I partially agree with you. The answer to your question isn't "none" but rather "not enough". Behavior like this is definitely not Muslim-specific. And even though I despise Christianity, I must admit, the Christians take much more effective action in removing violent people from their churches. Personally, if I found someone misrepresenting a group I associated with in this manner, you better believe I would hunt them down and destroy them. Currently, there are groups around the world promoting the idea that America wants to harm innocent people. They are building and training groups to attack America for this very reason. I support my country in hunting down these liars and taking away their weapons before they hurt someone. And what exactly do YOU support (aside from sarcasm & namecalling)?

snamouzegar, explain to me how this war is about oil rather than terrorism. The only 2 reasons I can think of are the fact that there is oil in the mideast and Bush has been in the oil business. That's not enough to reach such a drastic conclusion. And how are we benefitting from this supposed war for oil? I, just like every other American citizen, am paying more at the pump now than I was before we went into Iraq. All this extra oil we are supposedly bringing home doesn't seem to be helping me in the slightest. And what about 9/11? Have we forgotten so quickly that we were attacked? This rationality of "counter attack = war for oil" makes about as much sense as attacking burglers and robbers because we want their guns and knives. Nevermind the fact they attacked us first and will attack again unless we stop them.

There are many Muslims in the military, right now, doing just that. There are also Muslim policemen and firemen in the US, and many doctors and other workers.

I admire your honesty in posing your question so clearly. I know that many Americans truly believe what their political leaders tell them, not even doubting that most of the wars the US flicker whose flames are actually for oil, other types of wealth of other nations, and domineering over the entire world.
At the same time, I assure you that many years before America was discovered, leading to the plight its discoverers created for the red Indian aborigines of that land and the blacks whom they had forcefully brought to the New World, many people in the East had laid in their blood during their campaigns for freedom against Western colonialists, and later on in their fight against totalitarian monarch backed by the West, like the last Shah of Iran.

I think just risking your life for some war that I have nothing to do with (I'm not christian, i dont want the oil, I dont believe in my government) is not apart of my agenda. I dont think we should ask Muslims to do something like that just because they happened to Muslim during a bad time.
