There was a man called him Jim, who lived near a river.

Jim was a very religious man.

One day, the river rose over the banks and flooded the town, and Jim was forced to climb onto his porch roof.

While sitting there, a man in a boat comes along and tells Jim to get in the boat with him.

Jim says "No, that's ok. God will take care of me."

So, the man in the boat drives off.

The water rises, so Jim climbs onto his roof.

At that time, another boat comes along and the person in that one tells Jim to get in.

Jim replies, "No, that's ok. God will take care of me."

The person in the boat then leaves.

The water rises even more, and Jim climbs on his chimney.

Then a helicopter comes and lowers a ladder. The woman in the helicopter tells Jim to climb up the ladder and get in.

Jim tells her "That's ok."

The woman says "Are you sure?"

Jim says, "Yeah, I'm sure God will take care of me.

Finally, the water rises too high and Jim drowns.

Jim gets up to Heaven and is face-to-face with God.

Jim says to God "You told me you would take care of me! What happened?"

God replied "Well, I sent you two boats and a helicopter. What else did you want?"

But then Jim goes to Heaven and has a interview with God and Jim and God were scratching their heads in disbelief of the other. Jim asks God, "What happened? I have been your faithful servant all these years", then God says, "I sent you two boats and a helicopter".

Heb 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

I don't really believe in the care vs. not care. You're life is predetermined, you serve out a function as you were intended to do. In this function you have a certain mind set to keep yourself safe, live risky, or purely sacrifice. Don't forget that there are millions of deaths everyday and they all serve a purpose (without god saving them). It would be too unorganized for god to serve each person individually, but if you put them on the right track, the person does everything else by himself.

Life is like a river where the end is known, so as long as you know where it starts and all the obstacles it will face. That's gods job, knowing the obstacles you will face, and knowing who you are.

Here is more for atheist people: If you honestly believe in science then you know that the odds of life existing in a solar system such as ours are immensely steep. Due to the probability of the whole thing and the chance of how easily the human race can be extinct, wouldn't you say that there is some force here that's trying to keep us safe. If human existence can exist on it's own at odds of 1 to 10^123 (hypothetical), I am taking a bet that we're here because of a supernatural force. I would not bet on those odds at all if I firmly believed in atheism. As far as proof, there is that 1 doubt in 10^123 that you're right, but your the one taking a chance, not me. That's science for you.

I believe that God always helps in our times of need. He sent this Jim a boat, a helicopter and a ladder.

There once were two neighbors. One was really religious and prayed almost 5 times a day, while the other was an Atheist. The Atheist always got hot women, had a great job and was extremely rich. The religious man was poor, had a low-paying dead-end job and was very lonely.

One day he prayed to God and asked why the Atheist had more than himself, when he prayed to God all the time and constantly went to Church. The clouds parted and a giant voice boomed, "Because he doesn't bother me ever five minutes!"

Anyway, God helps those who help themselves

God will always take care of you in your time of need, no matter what. He will take care of you in your time of need, not want. If Jim knew better he would of gotten on the boat god sent for him. Though he takes care of you, Its not always in the form you expect, so you should always look out for new opportunities God sends you.

See I belive that God would have sent the boat, I am I right? Are you trying to say that With the woman that good things come to thoses that wait? Or are you saying that God is sending an attactive woman to rescue him because he isn't getting the point and prehaps he'll listen to an attractive woman?

God will take care of me but God doesn't want be to be stupid either. Jim was stupid. I think when the guy in the boat passed by that was God's way of taking care of Jim.

You left the last part out. The rest of the joke is he goes to heaven, and talks to God, and asks why didn't you save me? And God says: I sent you two boats, and a helicopter, what more do you want from me?

Added: Thanks for adding the rest, and this joke always makes me smile.

GOD has always taken care of me in my time and need. Somethings just are going to happen, this is called life. You can't blame GOD for everything, some of these things happen because of man.
