First answer. Wooo. Ok. Did you know that our average lifespan is ten years longer than a normal American? If more Adventists actually practiced it, it would be higher. We were promoting vegetarianism, teetotalism, and non-smoking lifestyles, when doing so was considered unhealthy. Even into the 20th century, doctors were paid to promote cigarettes. The truth of our health message does lend credibility to us when we share the gospel, and has been a great way to introduce people to the love of Jesus by demonstrating over all wellness of the physical being. Just like when Daniel and his friends stood out amongst the crowd of boys who ate from the kings table, we want to glorify God, even in our diet.

Many Seventh Day Adventists practice vegetarianism or at least eat less meat than most other people, because their religion teaches that the body is a temple and that it's their responsibility to take good care of their bodies.
