"anhedonia" is just another word for clinical depression. And a vast majority of people in treatment for depression are glad they sought help. Medications are only half the answer however. One must seek counselling as well to find out the root of their depression, or eventually even medications will not help. Some medications for depression to encourage weight gain because they give you back your appetite, some actually encourage weight loss, just depends on which one works for you.

I am taking Wellbutrin and a small amount of prozac because of anxiety and depression--- something I have been struggling with for years and sought God for many years also.
I know God can heal me- but I also know God gives us medications and that this can actually be a physical disease!
So if you are diagonsed with clinical depression, meds would be best. But the downfall is that so many people can just go see a doctor and give them false symptons thinking that a pill will make them happy--- when that is NOT what they are used for! They are used to balance the chemicals in the brain- also fix seratonin levels.
I do not know if what I am taking is helping seeing as I forgot to take it so much-- I need to be better at remembering- but everyone around me has noticed a slight difference.
