Let's say you are single and in your thirties. You are the last atheist left. For those of us whom might say this question is bizarre, remember this is readily acknowledged as a purely hypothetical situation.
Would you choose to remain single or would you find a spouse with a religion?
If so which religion would you better put up with or be? (Jews, Christians, Catholics, Mormons, Scientologists, Wiccans, Spiritists,Taoists, Buddhists, Shintoists, Sikhs, Hindus, Muslims, etc.)

I already have a religious spouse so this is not hypothetical for me. She's Christian.

I would want a mate. Just like in my real life, religion isn't all that a relationship is about. I was a Christian when I married my husband and he was an atheist. So, I would marry for love under those circumstances and would once again choose someone who is tolerant and loving. I would be most okay with Buddhists, Jews, Christians, and Wiccans.

I find it extremely hard to be compatible with someone of faith, simply because I'm so adamant about religion and God, due to the fact that the whole thing sounds improbable. I'd remain single, because it would be too much work trying to accept someone who celebrates Christmas, Easter, Hanukkah, or other religious holidays.
I can accept people as they are, for their religion, and even give them a gift or other gesture on their holiday to pay my respects to them, but I could never live with someone who believed in God, it would be.. almost a joke.

any religion as long as they tolerated mine and would let our children choose their religion on their own, i.e. not raise children in religion but not raise the atheist either. most likely to do this would be Wiccans, Spiritists,Taoists, Buddhists from what I understand about their religions.

Many non believers marry someone with a religion... No Lord knows that we are a much fewer group and not always easy to find each other... And it doesn't depend on the religion, it depends on the person, their personality, and if they are ok with the difference.

I dont claim to be atheist but I am however anti- religion. I am married to a catholic.... so I suppose I'm tolerant to other religions enough to be married to someone of a different religion for 10 years.

I'm not going to look for a spouse with a religion, I'll look for someone who is intelligent, fun, kind and with a sense of humour, if she belongs to a religion - that's fine, any will do as long as she and I love each other

Well then, I'd just have to turn someone atheist now wouldn't I? *grins*
Sorry, but I am not going to pair up with a religious nutter, I'd much rather be single. I reckon if I had to pick, I'd pick a Heathen or a Satanist...they are kinky.

Find another atheist or at least someone with beliefs in the same ball park. Otherwise the realitives might try to convert you. Yuck.
