The doctrine of Balaam mentioned in Rev 2:14 was the committing of sexual immorality.
Note after a battle Moses said
Numbers
15 "Have you allowed all the women to live?" he asked them.
16 "They were the ones who followed Balaam’s advice and were the means of turning the Israelites away from the LORD in what happened at Peor, so that a plague struck the LORD’s people.
17 Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,
The plague at Peor was mentioned in Numbers 25
6 Then an Israelite man brought to his family a Midianite woman right before the eyes of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
7 When Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, saw this, he left the assembly, took a spear in his hand
8 and followed the Israelite into the tent. He drove the spear through both of them— through the Israelite and into the woman’s body. Then the plague against the Israelites was stopped;
9 but those who died in the plague numbered 24,000.

Christmas (Jer 10:1-8), Easter, anything not written in the Scriptures.
Balaam, is simply a false teacher that teaches against the Laws of Yahweh that the Savior and his followers observed.
The world has been lead astray from the true worship.
Pro 4:2 For I give you sound doctrine, forsake ye not my law.
Jer 3:25 We lie down in our shame, and our confusion covereth us: for we have sinned against Yahweh our Father, we and our fathers, from our youth even unto this day, and have not obeyed the voice of Yahweh our Father.
Jer 16:19 ¶ O Yahweh, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely OUR FATHERS HAVE INHERITED LIES, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.
Jer 16:20 Shall a man make gods unto himself, and there are no gods?
Jer 16:21 ¶ Therefore, behold, I will this once cause them to know, I will cause them to know mine hand and my might; and they shall know that my name is Yahweh!

Baal worship was sacrificing children to a fire for this false god. Perverted sexual practices went on in their temples. Nimrod started many gods and goddesses of evil by disobeying God and being seduced by evil spirits including Satan. Nimrod built the Tower of Babel and directly disobeyed God's command. Semiramus (Nimrod's wife) and Tammuz (Nimrod's son) spawned many false doctrines including the Mother/Son cult. Greek/Canaanite mythology from the fallen angels mating with the daughters of men. Regular men let evil spirits (demons) inhabit them for knowledge and super strength. Even to this day we war against such evil.
