It is all about what size you want. But there is no such thing as a TEACUP according to AKC. Breeders just call them that as a nick name for the size of 3-4lbs. Then tiny toy for 5-7lbs then toy is 7-9lbs. But these are all just terms. Teacups take a lot of care and are not for children under 5. The tiny toy and then toy are alot sturdier. If you are wanting to take walks I would get one 6-9lbs. But if you just want a bed buddy or purse baby get one that is 3-5lbs.

First there is no such thing as a tea cup poodle. The term was started by Pam Ingram of Sassafras Kennels in the early 50's or possibly a little earlier. It meant that the puppies would fit in a teacup NOT and adult dog. A very small poodle is quiet often a health risk. The smaller the more of a risk it is. A toy Poodle is generally any Poodle 10 inches or under at the shoulder. It is almost impossible to tell how large a puppy will be at maturity and I would not purchase from some one who is breeding a female that is really too small to be bred . These females usually end up with problems and often times die giving birth.
Breeding toy poodles can be very chancy and if a person doesn't know what they are doing . Inexperience useually brings disaster.
For your own peace of mind go to a breeder who has tested dogs and a person who will NOT advertise "Tea Cups" . While Mrs Ingram had some wonderful dogs her coinage of that term to mean puppies has often been disastrous for people seeking a toy poodle which is the reason most breeders shudder when someone approaches with that description.

Teacup do not exist in any breed. It is just a label given to the runts or given to push the cost of the dog higher. The so called "teacups" usually have many health problem and end up costing a fortune in vet care. Toy Poodles weight range is 4 to 8 pounds why would you need something smaller?

There is no such thing as a teacup poodle. Greedy breeders invented the term "teacup" so they can increase prices on regular sized pets and make more money...meaning you get ripped off. Any one saying they have a teacup animal doesn't know anything about breeding a healthy animal. They are only breeding to make money and don't care if their animals are healthy or not.

Animals that are bred to be smaller than they should be have serious health problems that are expensive to fix later on. Avoid anyone trying to sell you a "teacup" anything.

There is no such thing as a teacup poodle. It is just a runt usually not healthy that a breeder wants more mmoney for. Go to AKC.org and you will see there is only toy, miniture and standard poodles.

Well As you probably know they are both adorable. But the littler the dog the more chance they have of having heart problems and getting sick. Hope this helps!!
