I'm not a religious person, but something my partner said to me has intrigued me. She's not religious either but has heard this... It's something to do with the jews being aloud to build a temple, maybe the UN, a mark on the left hand (id tags?) all christians and children vanishing from the face of earth, 7 years of hell on earth, survival of the fittest....all very scary! Any ideas?

the temple won't be built untill they tear down the dome of the rock, a very important muslim site in jerusalem, underneath which is supposedly the ruins of the temple of solomon. The prophecy says that when the jews rebuild the temple of solomon it will herald the end times. Last I heard muslims were still allowed in jerusalem and owned thier dome. Some jews and christians zealots want to do this though, partly out of thier hate of muslims and thier desire to bring about the end of the world, i guess it's a good thing.
the UN is the one world order that would be headed by satan or his son. in the legend of course. much to say thier no time won't read.
the mark is the mark of the beast, bible says, people who don't accept mark will suffer and outcast. thus if you don't have an i'd chip, you won't be able to shop or be registered with the gestapo, without a chip. So such a device would fulfill that requirement.
the rapture is the disappearance, it is not in the bible, added later, actually as recently as the 1970's there was a book called the vanishing, the idea was completely new to modern times.
survival of the fittest is darwinism- christians don't like him.

No. The "devil" is mythological. despite if, i've got confidence that there are people who're on the brink of being the devil that walk (or have walked) this Earth - Pol Pot, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, Mao Tse Tung, Jeffrey Dahmer... the closest element to the devil on the earth has constantly been someone - that's much extra frightening because of the fact they are genuine.

Revelation 12;7 says a war broke out in heaven and Satan was cast down to the earth. Knowing he has a short period of time. he cannot go back to heaven so yes he is walking in the earth. God Cast the Jews off as his people in Romans.
So his new nation comes form all nations, tribes, peoples and tongues.
But he has always been on this earth doing his little thing.
Read Job 1 where he was walking between heaven and earth. Causing trouble.
so yes to answer your question he is down here on our earth causing trouble.
Matthrew 24:21 says a great tribulation is about to start in which everyone will think the earth is about to be destroyed.

i think in some cases ,the devil already walks the earth,the devil has always tried to tempt people to do evil,and some of the things that are happening just lately,i think the devil is working overtime curupting,people to kill each other,
