no, in fact I tend to think they are smarter than the average person because they have the sense to see a professional when they realize they need help.

No! First of all there is no diagnosis called "crazy". I suspect the closest thing to that is "psychotic" which is a symptom and not an illness.
People see "shrinks" for all kinds of reasons. Many people see psychologists and psychiatrists because they are depressed. Some seek help because they have a phobia that causes problems in their lives.
As an example: I have a fear of heights (over 50 ft.) but it doesn't cause a problem in my life because there is no need to go higher than 50ft. If a person had a fear of elevators and worked on the 50th floor of a bldg.. they would want to see a psychologist to get rid of the phobia.
Some people may want to see a psychologist because they are unhappy, they want to do better at sports, they want to be more comfortable around the opposite sex, etc.
I hope I have written something that has been helpful.

Absolutely NOT! Mentally unbalanced, or maybe you just need help in figuring out issues for yourself. I go to a pdoc, and I don't consider myself crazy!!!!!!!! Years ago, people did, but not in this day and age. We all need help sometimes, and have to do what we have to do.
