Well, maybe not 7, more like 3 or 4.
He was a good driver.

Davey was an awesome race car driver, however, Imo, he would have won a championship or two, and would have won who knows how many races. One must remember, each year that passes, the more technology plays a huge factor in a car owners/driver's career.
I don't think Davey could keep up with all the big money technology needed to be successful in NASCAR.

I was a HUGE fan of Davey's so, I would like to think that he could have won at least 7 cups considering he drove for Robert Yates who was a excellent team owner & could build some great engines.
I do honestly feel in my heart, he could have won at least 4 Cups. Sadly, we will never know.

I no this won't be popular but I doubt if he would have done that. He was good but you have to understand he was doing good when Ford was on top and not Chevy.
He had 19 wins in 7 years. do the math.
He would have had some stiff competition to deal with and I just don't think it was going to happen.
He was good and I miss him too but 7 with 100 in 20 no way.

Ya know, I love to think that he would have because Davey was such a great talent and respected driver on and off the track. We could use more racers with his personality and point of view.

I am guessing, but I would say that he would have won at least 3. I don't know about 7, but he was a very good driver.

I think with the new point system it will be hard for anyone to get to seven including Jeff Gordon. Lets face it when you are a head of the pack by 300 points and then you say ok time to put you all back together again. It turns out to be anyones game again.
Gordon Rules.

He was just coming to his own and had he lived I think he would have 4 or 5 championships now and by the time he would retire he would have tied the number of Petty and Earnhardt.
