My friend & I have an argument going on. I think it is because it is gods house and she thinks it isn't because "god wants love in the world".

God might want love in the world, but I highly doubt He would want it in His house. There are so many places to make out.... Tell your friend to have some respect and save the make out sessions for someplace other than church. Should she fail to listen, keep your distance... You do not want to be near by when the lightning strikes.

Yes it is wrong. You are supposed to be going to church to worship God. God does want love in the world but there is a time and a place for everything. Just because you are making out with someone does not mean you love one another. You probably have very real feelings for each other but it is not always love. So the worldly things should be left outside church.

Why would you make out in a church? Didn't realize that was the place to hang out I guess...but I idon't think it is appropriate for making out to happen in a church. Maybe if you were getting married and gave a little bit of tongue when they say the husband may kiss the bride or something like that...

I think it is...only because doing so is disrespectful. Yes, God created romantic love, but it is also understood that there is a time and a place for everything. And a church is certainly not the place for a make out session.

I don't think public displays of affection are attractive at all. I just feel like I want to tell people to 'get a room' when they're climbing all over each other or 'making out' in public. Holding hands while walking, or a small kiss on the cheek upon meeting up with someone is quite enough in public. More than that is trailer to me...

I would see it disrespectful. Keep in mind that I'm an athiest and don't believe in "god's house", however, it is a place of worship, and certain behavior is expected. It also could be seen as offensive to those who do really see the church as a holy place and as a place to worship. Sure, by making out, you could argue that you're expressing love, however, as mentioned previously, there is expected behavior in a church, and there are appropiate places for it as well.

is it wrong? no, if your getting married and the priest says " you may now kiss the bride" at the time. yes its very wrong if its durring mass. and outside the church is ok if you are standing or sitting more than ten feet away from the church.

i believe it's wrong. your friend who uses this love argument doens't know what she's talking about. god and christ talk about love throughout the bible especially in the gospels. bu what christ is talking about is brotherly love as christians, not in terms of lust or attraction. 1 John 3:16 says, 'this is how we know what love is. jesus christ laid down his life for us and we ought to lay down our loves for our brothers.' that's not that same as 'love' by making out. first off the whole issue of it is disrespectful. the focus of church is to learn more about god, to get closer to him and to worship him, making out is a distraction. and for many especially guys such things could easily turn to lust in action or in thoughts, which is its own sin. moreover if you cause another to stumble, you are sinning yourself. in asking whether it's right or wrong, one must ask themself, is the action glorifying to god? in this instance, no, it brings no glory to god, but put's god in the back seat despite that fact that it's the house of god.

i'm not saying god is going to condemn you, but it's on your own conscience to choose between right or wrong, it's a sin like any other.
