how do i open powerpoint without going to the presentation?

whenever i open powerpoint, it goes directly to the presentation, as a result, i cannot make any more presentations. please help me.

Hi

First open PowerPoint all by itself (not by double-clicking a presentation file).

Once PowerPoint is open use File > Open and navigate to the presentation.

If I understand what you're saying....when you run PowerPoint, a presentation starts automatically and you want that to stop and just run PowerPoint "normally" - right??? If that's so, then there must have been a startup switch set for your PowerPoint program file. For instance,if the /S switch is used, the named file opens in slide show mode automatically - for instance: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\POWERPNT.EXE" /S "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\neon.ppt" With this in the Target field on the Shortcut tab in the shortcut icon's properties, the "neon.ppt" file would open automatically in slide show mode when I double-click the icon. Bottom line, I guess, is to check the shortcut you're using to run PowerPoint and make sure there are no switches after the POWERPNT.EXE.
