never had a altima but nissan's are very reliable vehicles and at 98k miles that baby is not even broken in yet, that my opinion. I own a '89 maxima with 387,000 miles. that speaks volume. I still drive it on a regular bases to work and out of town. i would trust it anyday.

My Next Door Neighbor Has Two Of Them [ One For Himself And One For His Wife ] And He Is Very Satisfied With His Car. He Drives The 3.5L V6 Engine Version Because He Drives Long Distances Every Other Week And His Car Has Never Failed Him. 98K Miles Should Be Fine Because Japanese Engines Are Known To Last 200K WITH Good Maintenance .

I have a 97 nissan altima and it currently has 157,000 miles on it and it runs very well. Make sure you keep your oil changed and it should do well. I am looking to get a newer altima in 2008 because the one that I have has done me so well.

For an Altima, 98,000 miles isn't much. In fact, even if you look at the predecessor, the Stanza, you'll see these cars are extremely reliable. I would suggest confirming any doubts and claims by looking on ebay motors for similar Nissans for sale with much higher mileage. Good luck.

I just bought a 2007 Altima and I haven't had any problems. A few people I work with have them as well and say they are solid cars. If the person you are buying the car from has taken decent care of it, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

My son's 1997 has just shy of 200,000 on it and my sister's 2002 has 131,000. Both are running well with few repairs.
