Answer: How is that...the senate vote on that last amnesty bill and only a couple of republicans supported that sell out of legal citizens.

Because with or without amnesty, Latin Americans will become an increasingly larger portion of the country and the electorate as time goes by. So, it's a question as to whether you'd want to win the primaries now, or lose the national election forever. The leader on this issue was none other than the number one Republican himself, the President. You can be sure, McCain was not the only Republican supporting this issue. If it was really simple, you wouldn't see McCain and Kyl out of Arizona going in different directions. And if Americans really could decide what they think about it all, you'd see both Republicans and Democrats going one way or the other. Some Democrats did not support it either. For sure, more Democrats did than didn't. But mostly because they expect to reap the results, most especially if Republicans line up firmly against it.

It is not split 50-50 I assure you. Most Repubs pols favor enforcing our current laws and securing our borders. And most republican voters strongly favor enforcing our immigration laws and securing our border with Mexico. Look at the Repub presidential candidates, Juan McCain was the only one to come out in favor of the Senate Amnesty bill and his campaign has been tanking ever since.

The only presidential candidates who have a proven record of being tough on illegal aliens are Duncan Hunter, Tom Tancredo, and Ron Paul. All the Dems are for open borders and amnesty for all the illegals in the USA!

It is the Dems who have a major split when it comes to immigration. It is about 50-50 when it comes to the Dem voters and the issues of amnesty for illegal aliens, but the vast majority of Dem pols in Congress favor amnesty.

Big business wants cheap labor despite its ruination of the schools and services and wages the other half of the Republican party needs for its own families. The populist side vs the globalist side.

I consider myself independent, now.

Or keeping status quo. the place they fluctuate is diffused questions of budgeting and priorities. the two events are constituted of distinctive sub sections. One interesting component of the GOP is the non secular perfect co-latest with their Libertarians (ala Ron Paul). in my view i'm pulling for the latter. meanwhile on the left you have complete blown atheist communists co-latest with our own Libertarians (ala Ralph Nader). national politicians inspite of occasion association are frequently decrease from the comparable textile. everybody at that time has been vetted and knows rule quantity one - stability. previous that they are going to "stand for" regardless of their base needs them to "stand for".
