not that i am aware. i've always thought them to be quite active during the winter. then again, i live in the south and our winter is not as cold as others and i dont know how much of a difference that would make...

there are different types of squirrels...
the ones you see are the tree squirrels they do not hibernate but the flying and ground squirrel do hibernate..

Some species do and some don't.

The smart ones do to hide from the freezing weather.
