I hit my pitching wedge (48 degrees) about 125-130 yards when I fade it and 135-140 yards when I hit a draw - I love how some people say they hit their pitching wedge 165 yards - that's probably a pitching wedge that is 44 degrees or John Daly is posting on Yahoo! Answers - - 110 yards is EXCELLENT for a 13 year old and you will hit it farther as you get a little older and fill out naturally

110 is fine. I've been playing for 20+ years, and I hit mine about 125. With irons it's not about distance, it's about consistant distance. Doesn't matter how far you hit each club as long as you KNOW how far you hit each club. Swing easy and hit the right club for the distance, whatever it is. When you are tapping in for birdy, it won't matter if you just hit a p-wedge or an eight iron.

Also, how does it fly? You want (generally) a high flight and soft landing.

btw, stoza_hoza is either lying, on steroids, or de-lofting his club. There is nothing good about hitting a p-wedge 170 yards... does that mean you hit your three iron 275??? and what do you do from 100???

I'm surprised you're almost 20 answers deep here and no one has said this:

Comparisons with pitching wedge distance don't make sense without more details. A pitching wedge made by one company doesn't necessarily have the same lofts as one by another company. Mizuno's MP67's PW has 48* of loft, while the TaylorMade CGB's PW is 44*....big difference--over a full club difference.

Besides, like Nukeman and RSM (the youngest guys on here) have said: it doesn't matter how FAR you hit your pitching wedge. Hitting any wedge is about "sticking it" next to the pin, not trying to be longer.

If you're really 13 years old and have a good game, please don't get caught up in the "macho distance game" that the rest of us hackers like to flex.

As they all say: "Drive for show....putt for dough."

That's a nice shot. I am 26 and I hit mine between 150-160, but I hit all my clubs far. 110-120 is perfect distance for a pitching wedge. Everyone is so caught up in hitting everything farther now days, but especially your lower lofted clubs don't need to be hit far. Like I said, my PW is between 150-160, my SW is between 100-125. Great right? It's ok, but now anything under 100 yds. is a finesse shot (I can't hit a LW). Ideally, I think one should hit 100-120 for a PW and 80-100 for a SW.

i can vary mine between 100-120 yards on a full swing. I'm 24, I have about a 95mph swing speed with my driver, but about an 75-80mph on my irons.

I would say you are doing just fine with your pitching wedge. You'll find that you'll hit more shots within 100 yards than any other shot.

Save strokes with your short game, remember, a 10 foot putt counts the same on the scorecard as a 300 yard drive.

110 is a pretty good distance but it depends on the size of the 13 year old. 5'6 130 or 4'6 95lbs. 110 for a small kid is very good. Ignore 160-170 thats b.s or not a wedge maybe a 7 iron.

That's a very good distance. I was hitting mine about 100 when I was 13 and hit it about 140-150 now at 23. The key isn't the distance though it's the accuracy. Just don't swing too hard and over swing your shots. You can always use a longer club.

That is a great distance for a kid your age. First off though don't pay any attention to anyone that says they hit their wedge 150-170 yds. I use my wedge for anything under 125yds that's my max for a wedge. Keep up the good work,
hit em straight
