So how long is it gonna take for them to take my braces off if on sept. 19 they are giving me a BR (Braces Removal) exam?

They said if i like my teeth then i'll be done, and i do, but how long after that appointment will they come off?

Probably the next day if you pass the exam. It doesn't hurt when they take off the braces, since you will be too excited about seeing your new straight teeth! Just don't let your tongue get in the way when they are taking them off. (I made that mistake and it cut my tongue a little.) Good Luck and Congratulations!! :)

Probably will schedule an appointment for the following week to take them off - If I remember properly, it took a while for them to actually remove the braces... It was pretty uncomfortable - A lot of pressure on your teeth to get them off. Then they scrape all the cement off your teeth.

The best is running your tongue over your teeth when it's done. They are all smooth!!! It is worth it.

I never had a BR exam....... they knew when I needed my braces off, and I came for an appointment and it came off within 5 minutes. I was surprised, I thought they had finished the first step, and they were like "You're Done" But I have a very good orthodontist. For those of you who are in the Pennsylvania/ Philadelphia area who want a good orthodontist I suggest Paul Carpinello, very good service, professional, and fun.

It doesn't take long to get them off. I would imagine you could get them off right then and there without another appointment.

It sounds like you're really excited to get them off!

The only thing they have to do is "sand" off the excess glue from the braces. It doesn't hurt, except for holding your mouth open for so long.

It's sooooo worth it though. Your teeth are going to feel so weird without your braces though. It's going to be weird in a good way though.

it depends on how busy the office is. when my apointment was scheduled to get my braces off it was 2 months later.:) but if the office isnt as busy then it wont be as long!

and if your wondering how long it takes to get the braces themselves off, about 20 min. it takes only a few min. to take the brackets off. and then they have to take the cement off and polish them and take xrays and what not.

congrats! that was the happiest day of my life:) lol

They may make one more to take them off, and they are easy to take off...so you shouldn't need more than one more appointment...unless they decide to do it right then and there. Good luck!! It will be a relief when they're off.
