Does anyone know the reason why?

because in the past , the name of Iran was Persian. and the reason is at the bottom of Iran you can see <>
well, English people call Farsi as Persian.because they translated Farsi to Persian

English people call the Persian language Farsi because that is the name of the language. At least that's what my Persian friend told me when he tried, unsuccessfully, to teach me some.

o dear masoome. why are you called masoome?!!!
cause it is your name. ok. english men once tried to change every thing in their under control countries.like what they did to India for example. but soon they understood that they can not do it to iran that way. I don't mean that they were poor or something,as we know they did it. but it is no more policy of taking other's language under control. that is all polititians.

its only because of iranians themselves!
whenever they chat with ppl from other countries they use farsi instead of persian...that`s why foreigners are gettin used to call it farsi instead of persian.

Because it's called Farsi.
Persian is just an English distortion.
