All moral questions aside.... seeing as how any withdrawls would be limited to the once-a-week offering this would be considered a low volume ATM and wouldn't really get any ATM sales companies excited about the idea.
But really, most churches would feel quite silly with an ATM in their church. Even a surcharge-free ATM. Didn't Jesus throw the money changers out of the temple in the gospels?
Also, finanancially you have to be able to have enough cash reserves on hand to keep the ATM stocked. And if it's a free ATM you're certainly going to have a lot of customers. What happens if you only load it with $2000 and it runs out in the middle of offering? Are you going to be able to float more cash reserves over the weekend to keep this ATM stocked.
It just plain doesn't make sense, morally OR financially. Especially when all churches I know of accept personal checks!!!

Yeah, but not to withdraw money to put in the offering plate, which is probaby the only reason a church would put one in the lobby.

To the comment that thought this was a joke, sadly it is not. Religion has in fact stooped to a new low. Just when you thought it could not get any worse and it does.

You are kidding me? That is hilarious. And I have to see one to believe it.
No more excuses for not putting in some money to the church coffers?

i wouldn't, bc i only use cash, but i don't see an innate flaw in it, if a person chooses to give then it's up to them, if a church chooses to enable that person to give in the ways they choose, no problem there,
