She has normal speach if not a little advance and is right on for developmenting. She has done this as long as I can remember, just wondering if it is normal or OK.

I actually did this when I was young too! It was really noticeable when I said certain words. I'm 27 now and every once in a while my mom still catches me doing it! Unless you have reason to believe that she may have some kind of nerve damage to her lips, it's nothing to worry about. It's probably just a little quirk she has.

Have you mentioned it to her doctor?
He/she might recommend a speech evaluation to make sure her mouth muscles/structures are working alright.

How is she socially? I ask because I used to work at a school for kids with ADHD and higher-functioning autism, and we saw some unusual mannerisms come through the school. if she's otherwise OK, please ignore the question, but given the short description and the fact that talking out of the corner of her mouth might be the most obvious thing going on, I thought I'd ask.

good luck!

She Might not Relize She is doing it. Ask her why Or just leave it. If she is talking correctly and is right on track for her age then don't worry. It Could just be a stage.

It could be just a quirk...silly little girl behavior. She may be mimicking something.

If you are concerned have a doctor take a look. (((-:

Just push her to speak with her mouth more open if you can. Other then that she should be ok.

Does she have any trouble moving her lips? Any other oddities that concern you? Otherwise, it is probably just her own little quirk.
