Before making your choice on your belief, have any of you ever gone in depth into other religions? If not, then why condone others? is that fair? Wouldn't it be wise to study different religious beliefs instead of being "born into" your religion and be taught that it is the correct one or disowning the entire concept, etc? or just not bothering what so ever because you "think" you got it right the first time? The point is, how can one hate what they do not know? Anyone can be taught to believe what is right or wrong (in the opinion of another), but did you choose to find the answer and decide for yourself?
Have you studied, or did you jump right in?

Wow..I'm glad to see so many people bothered to look into other beliefs.
However, to those who were "taught", is that your choice, or your teachers?

My point - It's OK that everyone has different beliefs, as long as in their heart - they searched for it, they love it - because it was their choice. Happiness is what matters.

I am atheist. I am presently in college attending a class on the New Testement. I have read the Quran, The book of Mormon, attended Jehovah's Witness meetings. Why do you think I'm an atheist?

I studied Christianity (Catholic, Lutheran & JW), Islam, Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism in depth. In addition I studied (though less in depth) about Ásatrú, Satanism and smaller Christian sects than those above.
Despite all that, I'm still an atheist because I've never experienced anything that convinced me or even showed me a probability of there being some god. Quite the opposite the more I learn, the more I feel like there's no such thing.

How many have you actually studied?
The exact number of religions in the world is unknown. Best estimates place the number around 4200. Of this number, a dozen have been classified as “major world religions.” The following list mentions the twelve major world religions in alphabetical order:
n Baha’I (7 million adherents)
n Buddhism (360 million)
n Christianity (2 billion)
n Confucianism (6 million)
n Hinduism (900 million)
n Islam (1.3 billion)
n Jainism (4 million)
n Judaism (14 million)
n Shinto (4 million)
n Sikhism (23 million)
n Daoism (2.7 million)
n Zoroastrianism (150,000)

I've studied Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, and elements of many other religions and traditions. Particularly the "mystical" aspects of religion - in Christianity, the Spanish Mystics; in Islam, the Sufis; in Judaism, the Qabalists; etc.
It's obvious to anybody who has made an honest and thorough study of comparative religion that "Truth" is not to be found in dogma. People who insist that "Jesus is the only way" or what-not have simply mistaken a symbol for the thing it's supposed to represent - which is why they're so jealous of all other symbolic systems. It's exactly as if I insisted that English is the only valid language for conveying thought.

I have read about Christianity, Judaism, Bahaism, Buddhism as well as some small readings about other faiths.
All my readings have led me to keep believing in Islam (Submission in English) as the religion of the humanity...
Quran[2:62 & 5:69] Surely, those who believe, those who are Jewish, the Christians, and the converts; anyone who (1) believes in GOD, and (2) believes in the Last Day, and (3) leads a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord. They have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve.
Peace!

I was not born into a religion...to this day, I don't know what my parents believe.
But I studied all the major religions: Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Paganism, etc.
I choose to find the answer myself and decide for myself...and I found none of the religions have it totally correct.
So, I choose not to follow any one religion.

Studying the basic tenets of any religion should be key in deciding which religion one chooses for oneself, if any at all, Oh wait, in order to reject religion altogether, one must start with critical thinking skills. Try Plato's Parable of the underground den, then move on to William Occam's razor method of reasoning, try some BASIC logic after that, a plus b equals c,ergo c-a must equal b etc...

I studied Islam, Atheism, Lutheran, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Paganism/Wiccan, Modern Day Satanism. Still a lot out there I need to learn about.
I have no religion. I have my own beliefs
edit- I guess I should add I was taught baptist by my family I did however study into it more. I chose by my own free will to study the others on my own by using library as a main source as well as attending some of these churches and meetings for brief periods of time.

Yes, I have studied enough about other religions to know that no other religion measures up to Christianity! And I do not "condone" other religions - neither do I *condemn* them! I do not "hate" that what I do not know - I hope the followers of those religions will come to know the Truth, and the Truth shall set them free! I resisted Christian belief for the first 25 years of my life, then chose to believe the Truth!
I pray that you, too, shall come to a saving knowledge of Creator God and Jesus Christ and belief in John 3:16!

I have studied Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, zen, Tao, Judaism, Baha'i, and Islam. I have found Islam to be the one that I love. In Islam I have found the truth, happiness, and an inner peace.
