Intelligence aside (and that's a lot to put aside), humans are still better from other animals with our tool making ability (our opposing thumbs).

We are animals and "better" is a relative term. Better in what way? In their respective niches many animals are better adapted than humans. Living underwater for instance, we certainly can't compete with those adapted to their environment. We have developed great intelligence but we may not be superior to other species in this regard either. We have the potential to drive many species and perhaps ourselves to extinction with our weapons and ecological impacts. No other species threatens the survival of themselves and all others so much as humans.

I think of that sometimes, if humans were'nt smart, how would the world be if it were run by animals?
i really don't think there is a difference, though, besides the intelligence to start a communication system [which, really, is the only think that makes us 'better' than animals]

All animals have intelligece so intelligence does not separate the human from the animal.
Based simply and exclusively on our animal nature, the answer is no- we are no better.

I'm assuming you mean - are humans any better than wild animals? Honestly, I'd have to say no. We are the same, except for our ability to reason = what you call intelligence.

Intelligence aside, as you say, no. And we *are* animals. Large organisms that need to eat, breathe, poop and sleep like the rest of 'em.
Doesn't mean I'll stop eating meat though. I am an omnivore, after all. ;)
