Well, this does not happen just in Dallas. It happened recently in Houston (where I am at) where a group of Mexicans beat up a Black and White guy and took their $200 sneakers. It happens all over the place. Incase you were trying to go in a racial direction, I want you to remember what I just told you. Bad and Good people come in different colors. It is sad but there are always going to be people out there who would rather take from a person instead of work hard and get their own. Something else you need to consider is that someone wearing a $3,000 dollar bracelet might not want to go to a house party. Especially if it happened 4 months ago to someone you know. A little common sense goes a long way.

First I am so sorry about your cousin. That sounds TERRIBLE! I will pray for himt o have a speedy recovery.
Well it's called ignorance. It doesnt matter the race. Some races who more ignorance in one part of th country than others. I live in NC and we have a fantastic mix of whites, blacks, and Latinos. They ALL do foul things. There is a lot of black on black crime here. They dont so much mess with others. However the Latinos do a lot of crime against their own race as well, but target white people as well. The white people just go against everyone including thier own race.
It's just all about their conditions. Chances they arent educated and have very cruel hearts and have exreamly LOW self esteem. Usually when people attack a certain type of person or group of people that is who they are intimiadated by.
My husband is Latino is he reached out a lot to his own community. He gets a lot of negative feed back from high school drop outs and fatherless kids and children with poor living conditions and they are very angry.
So the only thing you can do is just pray for these people to be at peace so they dont inflict injury upon one another.
If I was your brother i would have wanted to do the SAME thing only over their heads. Good for him for holding back his physical violance!
Take care sweetie! I hope your family is well!

WOW I live in Dallas I have never had anything like this happen, but then again I don't go to clubs and parties with "$3000" bracelets on. If this keeps happening, why does you family keep going back to the same area. Just doesn't make sense. Note to everybody, things like this happens everwhere if you are with the wrong crowd.

People of low morals will always steal what they don't have or can afford. However, the actual problem here was your cousin...you don't walk into a crowd with a bunch of money in plain view...why not just say, "Hey, I dare you to steal my money!" He's probably lucky they didn't cut his arm off to get it.
Also, maybe someone should teach your cousin about money...either he's rich and can afford to have (and lose) the $3,000 bracelet, or he's an idiot for having such luxuries. Tell him to put his money into investments.

I live in Dallas as well, but I don't know where your cousin was hanging out. And with a bracelet like that, in the wrong place, he was asking for it. I don't wear any jewelry when i party because of that reason. Dallas is a good city, but it also has its ghettos just as well as any city.

Sounds like he needs to find a new group to hang with and if you have 3,000$ hangin off your wrist you should make sure you are ready to take some people down if you need to
Remember what goes around comes around :-)
Hope all is well with your cuz
