It depends on what you are doing that late at night, and how long you sleep to in the morning. You need to be sure your body gets enough rest - or it will have the opposite effect and you will gain weight.
If you are getting 8 hours of sleep, and you are being active when you are up late (not laying around watching TV) then it might acutally work out for you.

Actually, getting some sleep helps losing weight, it gives the body to recharge and top up the metabolic rate, but don't eat within 3 hours of going to bed as the energy in food will be wasted and turn into fat.

Sleep is when your muscles repair themselves so chances are they have not had a chance to do so and are slowly atrophying. Lack of sleep can also cause excess stress, which leads to putting on weight easier. Solution: Get more sleep.

No. You actually lose less weight when you don't get enough sleep, since your whole body (including metabolism) slows down.

No! You need a good night's rest. You burn calories when you sleep and sleep also helps your metabolism stay level.

No it makes you gain weight. You'll be more tired and it will slow down your metabolism, so you'll hold onto those calories.

No it doesn't! The longer you stay up the longer you will have to get hungry and eat more.
