It will seem silly to some, but if you buy something from swiss colony or fingerhut, they grant credit to almost anybody. Spend $100 and make the minimum payment (or just a little more) until it is paid off. Then do it again once or twice. This will begin a record of positive history for you because these companies always report.

All it takes is one account in good standing to get things rolling.

And don't apply for more than one credit card at a time. It will make your score plummet for a while.

There are two types of credit cards: secured and unsecured credit cards. You have to choose between these two, based on various factors with the stable income being the crucial one. A secured credit card is obtained after making a deposit to the card company. You get the card with lower limit than the money you have deposited. An unsecured credit card does not need you to give any deposit. But the catch is that the bank may charge either higher interest or fees if you have bad credit. Hence find out the terms and condition before taking these types of cards.

Buying a car will get you started if you drive. Or try an appliance- Sears/Penney's are tough to get so if you get that card and maintain a good standing with them the cards will flow like honey from there! Getting a secure card will help too. Ask your bank about depositing moeny into an account and using a debit card against that account. Most will let you. Then use it as a credit card sometimes too, just lay it down and say credit please. Good Luck!

Best way to start (at any age) is to get a secured card. Basically you put down the money you would like to have as a credit line, and they put it in a savings account in which you gain interest. Within a year (depending on the bank) you will get your money back in addition to the interest, and your card will then be unsecured.

Take a look at the link below for more info.

Try Imagine credit card. I have an Imagine mastercard and I have super bad credit. They have high fees, but it will help you establish credit. Google credit cards for no credit or bad credit. There are tons of them.

Your bank should have credit cards. I refused one when I first opened accounts with my bank, then decided later to take it. Good luck.

If you have $2000. in a savings account. Get a personal loan for 24 months and using your funds for collateral and pay it it off in 12 months. That should resolve your problem.
