forbidden tree? God forbade Adam to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, warning him that he would surely die if he did. The serpent persuaded Eve to eat from the tree and "she got Adam to eat from the tree. So if they hadn't of eaten from the tree.

Would we all still be living in Eden?

Would human existence be unknowledgable of good & Evil?

Would we all still be walking around naked?

Would wome still suffer in childbirth?

Would we have to work?

Would we all live forever?

A lot of questions I know

The tree was as a test of obedience to God. We may still be in Eden or the whole earth could have been like Eden.

We may still have been unintelligible of good and evil and we may have stayed clean, which would have allowed us to never die, sin = death, no sin.

Well, naked fits in with knowing good from evil, so there wouldn't have been any shame, so our nakedness wouldn't have mattered. BTW, sex is NOT a sin when between the union of a man and women married, becoming one.

No we would not suffer then or now, the suffering during childbirth was a curse for disobedience. No disobedience, no curse.

We would still have to work, but not as hard. Adam was working BEFORE the disobedience, but everything was easy. His curse for disobedience was the ground cursed, thorns, thistles, weeds, interrupting the growing of food.

Yes, we would have lived forever without having to die an earthly death first. You WILL still live forever, that is a matter of what choice you make to spend eternity.

Well, the original sin on earth wouldn't have caused us to not know sin, as Satan had already sinned, therefore sin was introduced, Satan just brought it to humanity. If humanity had stayed perfectly obedient to God, we would probably know of sin, yet had been able to resist, but as you see, humanity can not resist sin, that is why we need a savior, Jesus Christ.

We would not all be living in Eden because God told Adam and Eve to "be fruitful and become many and fill the earth and subdue it" (Genesis 1:28).

You and I would not know sin if Adam and Eve hadn't eaten the fruit because we would not have been born. It is hard to say whether one of Adam and Eve's offspring would have eventually sinned or not.

Adam and Eve only covered themselves up after they sinned, but that does not mean that they and their offspring would not have worn clothes at a later time. Maybe they wouldn't have, either way it wouldn't matter.

Pain in childbirth was only mentioned after they sinned. Genesis 3:16 says: "I shall greatly increase the pain of your pregnancy; in birth pangs you will bring forth children."

Ecclesiastes 3:13 says: "Every man should eat and indeed drink and see good for all his hard work. It is the gift of God." We would still have to work but it would be satisfying.

Death was said to be the result of Adam and Eve disobeying God. (Genesis 2:16) Had they not disobeyed, they would still be here as would all their offspring.

The Entire purpose for our Existence is to be a working part in settling the Angelic Conflict as part of Satans' Appeals Trial in the Justice of God. Had there been no Disobedience, we would not be here and the "Choice for God" over Satan would have Ended the Trial!!! The Result of Disobeying God brought Childbirth, Death both Physical & Spiritual, Work, Disease and All the Other Negative things U can think of. John

Good question, oh boy, what a life that would be - no killing, no raping, no problems with bills, no dying living forever, no hatred, no diseases such aids, herpes, std's, cancers, mental illness, robbing banks, breaking into homes, kidnapping, sucides, no winter, summer, spring and fall weathers. Yes, what a life that would have been. But reality check Jesus die on the cross for our sins and had already made provisions for us to miss hell - and if our names are not written in the Lambs book of Life - then we will forever be living in torment and that's in hell. Thank God for the love of Jesus!

Guys..it's a story......Adam and eve represent the innocence of chidhood, The God figure represents the over protective parent unwilling to allow his children to grow, "do not eat from the tree of knowledge". the serpent represents the inexorable process of alienation between parents and their offspring....being banished from the garden....

...well I think you get the idea!

Scripture is ironic in nature, in a sense the bible is just kidding

It's not about Adam/Eve eating from the tree but about Satan misleading us. Satan was jealous of Adam so he refused to bow down and greet him when God introduced Adam to the angels (created with pure light) and Satan (who was a jinn created with fire in the company of angels) so God condemned Satan and Satan vowed to mislead Adam/Eve and his discendents till the term appointed but God sends us guidance.

Can't see the funny side in mocking this story as it's not any different from any other stories in our everyday lives of peole being envious, misleading, punishing, revenge etc.

I can't believe how unbelievably naive your question is.

You are reading from a badly written fictional book.

Questions like "would women still suffer in childbirth?". There are still women suffering through childbirth now. Regardless of whether two fictional characters ate from a ruddy tree or not!

I can't even be bothered with the other stupid questions!

If Adam and Eve hadn't sinned and been thrown out of the Garden, someone else would have eventually. God knew it wouldn't last, because he gave humans a free will. He knew that eventually, we would falter.

We would still be living in a paradise. We would not have to till the ground and women would not have pain while giving childbirth and the snake probably would be walking on 4 legs instead of just on its belly and most importantly, we could walk in the garden with G-d.

Do not forget Satan.
If he failed with Adam and Eve, he would have persisted with each and every one of their descendants...all perfect and living without having to die.
Eventually, someone would have succumbed.
