The central concept of all religions is (or at least should be) taking care of each other. Is everyone doing their part? If not, why do you feel this doesn't apply to you?

CJ:I and many others would only count that as help if they wanted to know your beliefs, otherwise it is not helping.

We are human beings, and should be good to one another. We don't need religion to tell us something as basic as that. Or perhaps some do..

Thus far today I've been a peace keeper for a military buddy of mine who's in the desert and his pregnant wife here at home. That's a rough spot for them and I normally wouldn't get involved, but they asked me to mediate.

I bought a breakfast biscuit for the local homeless crazy. He's a nice enough guy that does odd & end stuff for a little pocket cash, but when his crazy switch flips he can't be dealt with. The local businesses let him do odd jobs for money, he recycles their stuff, that sort of thing.

That's my morning, and I'm not religious...I'm agnostic.

I'm a very friendly driver. I can't tell you the number of people I've let go in front of me. Does that count? I've helped some people at work, but they pay me, so I don't think that counts.

I have helped my son today.

Just because I wanted to.

I'm a stay at home mom, so I don't really get to help others till evening or wknds

But I would help anyone that needed it, just to help out

Not me.
I helped someone, but I also enjoyed doing so.
That rules me out under the "no reason other" clause?

The godly reason for our prosperity is that in our effort to thank God we will reach out to those that don't have. I believe that is one of the reasons why our country is so prosperous, that we are generous with what God blesses us with. Another thing that I have found out is that you can't out give God, the more you give the much more He gives.

That's why I'm personally here on R&S, to either help with individual problems or help people understand my faith when they ask.
