Short and to the point:

I dot not believe in fate or destiny because believing so, would rule out the fact that God is a "loving God". (1 John 4:8)

Just imagine God, planning out peoples deaths, especially those that died tragically. It just wouldn't make sense.

Not in a literal sense, but I do believe that people are presented with some circumstances in their lives which have strong, direct influences (good or bad) over their possible decisions/actions and goals.
I don't believe that everyone is completely limited by their circumstances, but I do believe that certain circumstances can limit and/or severely decrease the viability of certain decisions or actions.
I'm not saying this very well....

You know, I asked a related question yesterday and never got a real answer. It was, "If the date of our death is predetermined, why did God suddenly start granting more people full lifespans when we discovered the smallpox vaccine? Or the polio vaccine? Why does he consider people born today to be worthy of an average of 30 years more than those born 100 years ago?"

No, and No. The idea that something else controls my life is completely anathema to what I've seen so far. All my mistakes and triumphs are mine, and I take full responsiblity for who I am and what I've done.
