I took mine in Wisconsin. We had a morning session that was general electrical question and an afternoon session that was more toward the power industry or electronics (you had to choose).

The questions were multiple choice and the test was open book. To prepare, I bought the study guide and went through a few problems a week. As I did the problem, I got the book ready, and also tried to remember the “trick” or special case type problems. Once I was through the study guide, I put it away for a week and went through the guide again. The night before the exam I went through the guide to only look at the theory (don’t crunch the numbers). Get a good night of sleep, and do your best. You should pass with no problem. It was a stressful day, but just try to relax.

While taking the test, read the question, then think about how to solve for it. Then look at the answers, it will help you know what form the answer needs to be in. then work the question.

Good Luck

Years ago when I was preparing to take my exam I purchased a workbook from Amazon.com and also found several review books in the public library,
I spent several months plowing thru review problems. I had been out of school for quite a while so needed a lot of review. Our state does not test by engineering discipline, the exam is a general engineering exam that includes problems from all disciplines.

I believe Amazon.com still sell the books for the various disciplines and books are also probably available at your local public library.

a three.4 GPA is marginal for electric powered Engineering. in case you get in someplace, you're at extreme possibility of failing. once you're specially attracted to Electronics, you may take a 4yr Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering technologies. the main suitable e book to get you as much as velocity in Electronics is named "artwork of Electronics" (even though it incredibly is somewhat dated now).
