Isn't sleeping with your brother and sister(family in general)wrong ?so how could adam and eve be the first and only man and woman on earth. To increase population the had to sleep with there family...... I could see if this was ok to do but this naturally feels wrong to most people including myself......I think this is a major contradiction in the bible........God is not a contradictor! so why are they lying? is there something they don't want mankind to know?

This is a deep question and i find the bible trips over itself quite alot.
Incest is wrong in society, but were adam and eve actually classed as brother and sister in the bible? Or were they made for each other's company and other half?
The bible can be seen as a guidance to life aswell, not a literal story.
It depends how you want to interpret the bible

God created both Adam and Eve in a way that was different than any human being since then. They were not born from a mother, the way we were. He made them, and they were not brother and sister.

I've wondered that too. I think there was actually an alien genisis project that populated the earth through cloning, etc. (with the rib of Adam, God created Eve) We were geneticly designed in order to exist in this atmosphere. Many were created and eventually intermixed. Therefore, we have the genetic diversity that we do. This is a story I came up with to confront Jahovas Witness. They drive me nuts, but my stories drove them nuts!! LOL

As far as you are concerned, I would have to say that it would be wrong for you. You obviously don't live in a poor country.
As far as Adam and Eve go, they were the only two around and must have missed all those shock videos on incest and polygamy. I suppose that it wasn't even on their minds. I guess that TV and the internet porn that we are all are capable of seeing weren't an issue in that day.

The Bible doesn't say that they were brother and sister!! God MADE A MAN...and HE ALSO MADE A WOMAN! It doesn't say that he made Adam & Eve as brother & sister...it says that MAN was made first, and GOD saw that Adam needed a help-mate so he wouldn't be alone. With a rib from Adam, made HE a Woman.....that doesn't mean they're siblings!

In Genesis god creates all the animals and plants of the world, INCLUDING HUMANS, in 6 "days".
Then it creates Adam, Lilith (who leaves and finds a husband elsewhere), the Nameless One, and finally Eve.
It does not claim that Adam and Eve were the only humans, just that they were the first important humans to their faith.

Well let's assume for the sake of argument that the account of Genesis is to be taken literally. God created Adam, then from Adam's rib he created Eve.
Who's to say he didn't create other humans elsewhere using similar methods? It never says he didn't--merely that Adam was the first man.

The Adam and Eve story is fiction. But it stands to reason that if they were the only people on earth, incest had to be the norm. It only became taboo later on. What choice would they have had, and why is that so repulsive to you? You seem to be able to accept that Lot's daughters slept with him because they thought the world had come to an end after the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

I think sleeping with sis with sis is nothing wrong, but sleeping with brother is just unusual thing, but it also okay but you don't seen it happen much in the society!
