If you got a good dog, then head will be 1/3 the width of the shoulders. If you got a good dog it should weigh 45 - 55lb full grown.

If you wanted a big, thick dog, why didn't you get a mastiff or a bulldog?

I'm sure your local HUmane Society has a few pits or pit mixes. If for some reason they don't, you could try researching local pit bull rescues. They will only have pit bulls or pit bull mixes. Other than that, I'd research good pit breeders in my area.

I have a Rotti/Am Staff cross and at 2 years old he weighs about 75 lbs. He started getting his blocky head around 5 months I think.

I have a 9.5 month old Lab/Staffy mix. When we adopted her at 8 weeks she weighed around 10 pounds. She now weighs around 45 pounds. I don't know about the head size aspect. I can tell you she started to look more like a staffy around 6 months old. Especially when she pants, she has the biggest smile ever!! Good luck!

there really is no way of telling... each one goes thro growth spurts at their own time... the size of the paws can tell you if they are going to be big or not tho. big paws means big dog.
