have got two solid black pieces on my arm. they occasionally feel a bit raised, which i'm used to, but just over the last couple of days they're swelling, sore and the skin surrounding them is red. one tat is 7 years old and one is about 16! i can't understand this! anyone got any ideas? it's been very hot the last couple of days...although that's never affected them in the past...

i've heard about some black inks having metal used in them to get the right colors and then eventually a person's body may reject the metal in the dye, causing some raising of the tattoo, i'm really not an expert on that though, I'd contact a tattoo artist or a dermatologist or doctor if it continues. I hope it's nothing serious, good luck!

I suggest you go to a Dermatologist and have him look at them to rule out anything medically wrong
