I've been to Houston many times, but mainly while the RC was under renovation. I finally go to see it a few years back but I had to sweet talk my way in because they were setting up for a wedding reception. It was very loud in there and I couldn't really experience it the way I wanted to.

I haven't been there in many years. I couldn't quite relate to the black paintings and I was a little spooked by the fact that the artist committed suicide. I thought it was neat that it was open to people of all persuasions. That was my impression of the place as an agnostic teenager. I don't know what it would be like now, but probably about the same.

I actually live in walking distance to it, and to be honest with you I really fail to see what the big deal is about the place.

Maybe I am just an unsophisticated heathen, but I think people are trying to look for more depth to the place then it actually contains.
