Back when I was an atheist, I just rejected the idea of God because I didnt like the idea of a supreme being having ultimate authority. I had a bloated pride in myself and mankind and felt we were the only authority and that since I had never seen God or witnessed a miracle, that he didnt exist.

But I was an idiot and learned that life isnt all about mankind or especially just me. After I had the heart to be open to the possibility, God started doing things in my life and how much more dumb could I get if I ignored that?

There is a lot of evidence to show that each god of each religion is man-made. You only have to review their histories to see this.

There is also a lot of evidence that people tend to make up and strongly believe myths, superstitions, and urban legends. Religion is just a similar type of belief that really doesn't have any evidence to support it.

Why don't you believe in Odin?

Why don't you believe in Buddha?

Why don't you believe in Vishnu?

Why don't you believe in Amun-Ra?

You can see where I'm going here. You don't believe in those, yet you criticize me for not believing in your god? A bit hypocritical, no?

Why do you believe in God? Think about why you believe in God and for every reason you come up with, think the exact opposite for a second, and that's why I don't believe in God. :)
